Four square metres of Finnish sauna

The Finnish sauna BL-145 measures 200 × 200 cm for 4 seats, at 200 cm high. This is the format where a sauna stops being a cabin and becomes a room: four square metres allow an upper bench to lie on and a layout where the group faces each other rather than sitting in a line. It costs € 6.942.

How much space is needed around it

To the four square metres of the cabin you have to add room for the door to open and the safety clearance from the heater stated in the technical sheet, which on a stone heater is not negligible. Usable ceiling height must be at least 200 cm allowing for the screed: this is the constraint that blocks most loft and basement installations, and it should be checked before ordering. Empty weight is 200 kg, spread across the whole base of the cabin.

Why ventilation matters at this size

A four-person Finnish sauna produces far more humidity per session than a small cabin, and the room housing it has to be able to clear it. In a basement or a cellar with no windows, mechanical ventilation is required: without it the humidity accumulates and over time damages the surrounding surfaces. This is something to assess at design stage, not after installation.

Frequently asked questions about the 4 person Finnish sauna

How long does it take to heat up? Between forty and sixty minutes, depending on heater output and starting temperature. A larger volume takes longer than a two-person cabin.

Can you lie down? Yes. With 200 cm per side the upper bench allows a comfortable lying position.

Is it suitable for guest accommodation? Yes, it is one of the sizes most requested for the spas of farm stays and small hotels. Commercial use carries regulatory requirements that vary by region: it is worth checking them before purchase.

How much does it cost? € 6.942, in the standard configuration.
