Hot tub accessories

What can be added to a hot tub

The 30 accessories in the range fall into four families, and it helps to keep them apart because they answer different needs. Heat management, meaning thermal cover, cover lift, skirt insulation and heat exchanger, has a direct effect on running costs. Water treatment covers cartridge and sand filters, sanitisers and tablets. Access and safety covers steps, handrail and base. The rest is comfort and control: LED lighting, fountain jets, wi-fi modules, Balboa panels.

The thermal cover is not an optional extra

It is the accessory that pays for itself fastest. An outdoor hot tub holds its water at temperature twenty-four hours a day, and heat loss happens almost entirely at the surface: covering it when not in use substantially reduces the cost of holding temperature. On larger tubs the cover lift becomes just as useful, because a cover of that size is awkward to move by hand and ends up not being used. These are the two accessories we suggest considering alongside the tub, not afterwards.

How to choose the right filter

Cartridge filters are identified by a model number: compatibility depends on the tub's filtration system, not on its size. Before ordering, check the code on the filter currently fitted or in the tub's technical sheet. A filter of the wrong size will not fit, and a poorly cleaned filter loses effectiveness: the cartridge should be rinsed regularly and replaced roughly once a year.

Frequently asked questions about hot tub accessories

How do I find out which filter my tub takes? The code is printed on the cartridge currently fitted and given in the model's technical sheet. If in doubt, send us the tub code and we will check.

Can accessories be added after purchase? Most of them yes: covers, steps, handrails, filters and sanitisers can be fitted at any time. Some components, such as the heat exchanger or provision for additional jets, are better specified at the time of order.

How often should the cartridge be replaced? Roughly once a year with domestic use, sooner if the water struggles to stay clear. Regular cleaning needs doing far more often.

Is the cover made to measure? Yes, it has to be chosen for the specific tub model: dimensions and shape must match for the insulation to work.
