Three person sauna: two models, one footprint

Three seats is the most balanced format for a domestic sauna: one person can lie down, three can sit. Both models in the range occupy a square of 150 × 150 cm, just over two square metres, at 200 cm high. These are Finnish saunas with stone heaters, priced from € 3.305 to € 3.508.

The two cabins have the same external footprint and the same capacity: what differs is the finish and the weight, 86 kg against 100. Greater weight generally corresponds to thicker panels, which translates into better thermal insulation and longer cooling times. On a sauna used often that difference shows on the bill; on occasional use it matters less. The price gap between the two is in any case modest.

Where to install it and what is needed

You need 150 × 150 cm of free floor plus a usable height of at least 200 cm, along with room to open the door. The floor must be level and dry: no base is required, the cabin sits on the existing screed. An electrical circuit for the heater is needed, and ventilation in the room, because the sauna produces humidity at every use. The cabin arrives as a kit of panels and slots together with no building work.

How long does it take to heat up? A Finnish sauna of this size reaches working temperature in a good forty minutes, and longer from a cold room: it depends on the heater output.

Can it go in a garage or basement? Yes, these are among the most common locations. You need a level floor, an adequate electrical circuit and the ability to ventilate the room.
